Silence of Suicide – 2024 The Valour Foundation board member John Robins and IMG Trust intern Freya Hills visited the Silence of Suicide (SOS) charity.

During their visit to SOS, John and Freya toured the new and innovative mobile wellbeing hubs, which have been introduced to increase the accessibility of mental health services to those in need. These hubs offer a flexible and approachable way for individuals to seek support in various locations.

They had the privilege of meeting the dedicated team, including the charity’s founders, Michael Mansfield KC and Yvette Mansfield, who shared their passion and vision for the organisation’s future. The visit spotlighted the crucial work carried out by frontline staff and their involvement in the suicide helpline. Frontliners offer immediate emotional support to callers, while spot checkers play an essential role in ensuring the quality and consistency of the responses during critical moments.

SOS’s future plans include exciting initiatives for fundraising to sustain and expand their services, as well as their commitment to training new frontliners to ensure the organisation expands to adapt to the increasing daily phone calls.
