The bigmoose was established seven years ago with a clear goal: to make a difference in the lives of those facing mental health challenges. Their comprehensive 3-point plan encompasses helping individuals with mental health struggles, preventing suicide, and combating homelessness. The charity believes that quick and effective therapy, coupled with open conversations, can truly save lives.
The demand for bigmoose’s services continues to surge with nearly 1600 individuals seeking assistance in the past 2 years. Incredibly, they maintain a 24-hour turnaround to connect individuals with counsellors, meaning life-saving support and therapy has been available for many people.
It’s a busy time for bigmoose as their ambitious £15 million fundraising campaign ramps up, aiming to further amplify their impact, reaching more schools and businesses to address mental health needs in the post-pandemic era. The idea for this fundraising began during lockdown when the team reflected on the news that they’d saved five people from ending their lives. bigmoose’s co – founder, Jeff Smith, recently shared the news that this figure was now sitting at 52 individuals, all of whom credit the charity for saving their lives.
